So I've been working on my inspiration board for my work in progress, THE FIXER UPPER. I'm adding scenes from the book, like the little house where my main character Mo Sullivan rents a room, or her old beat-up car.
I also figured out who would play the characters in a movie, starting with Kellan Lutz as Jake and AnnaSophia Judd as Mo.
Check out the FIXER UPPER Pinterest board!

Work In Progress: THE FIXER-UPPER
I've been working on a new book ever since the new year and I've finished the first draft. So excited about it! It's a departure from my shorter romances (don't worry, those are my first love and I'm also working on several new ideas for romances that will be out later this year).
It's called THE FIXER-UPPER and it's a story of a small town called Lark Creek, and the lives and loves of the people who live there during one spring and summer. A damaged young mother returns to parents' home, certain she'll never find happiness again. An itinerant carpenter coaxes beauty from a dilapidated church. An old woman finds she still has lessons to share - and to learn.
While I revise THE FIXER-UPPER, I'm gathering images for inspiration. I hope to have a new Pinterest board to share soon!

Hey, Tweeps!
I've been lucky enough to get to know some of the romance writers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and they talked me into trying Twitter. I'm just getting my feet wet, but it's fun :)
I'd love to follow you if you're on Twitter too...

I'm so Pinterested!
You guys! I guess I'm about the *last* person to discover Pinterest, but my gosh, what a blast! I'm a total newbie, but I'm having the best time with it. I lost about three hours yesterday wandering around looking at vintage textiles (I have this crazy idea to make a dog bed out of an old quilt for my sister's dog) and container garden pictures.
I'm also starting to collect pictures from around Emeryville. It's kind of like the take-out menu collection we all used to have before Yelp, only better! I've found so many things to put on my to-do list for weekend fun.
I may have to set a timer to prevent myself from spending way too much time there (Hey! I wonder if MacFreedom has an option to block only Pinterest?) - but for now it's going to be my reward for getting my words done.
If you're on Pinterest, will you let me know so I can follow you? And if you'd like to follow me, just click that button over there on the left. Yep, that one. Looking forward to connecting with you!

Announcing the Release of MINE 'TIL MONDAY
One of my all-time favorite romance storylines is the marriage of convenience, interpreted for modern readers - where two people are forced to marry or pretend to marry to further some other goal. Often, a man needs a woman to stand in as a wife to advance his business interests. Wouldn't it be fun, I thought, to turn that upside down?
In MINE 'TIL MONDAY, Dorothy Albright's would-be boss is looking for a specific kind of person to run her beloved company - a married person. And since the boss loves golf, Dorothy contacts her one old friend who's not only a golfer but an ex-pro - her childhood companion, "Mud" Taylor. Mud agrees to play Dorothy's mate for the weekend to fulfill a promise made long ago, but as they struggle to convince the rest of the world they're in love, they start having a hard time remembering that they're actually not.
(P.S. Isn't this a darling cover? I have to thank my designer, Kim Killion - I think this is one of her best ever!)
